About the artist
B. 2002, Zoe's works are vibrant and colourful and combine the advantages of digital mediums such as photography with the viscosity of physical paint. Using acrylic paints and vibrant colour palettes, elements that are often times considered ‘low-brow’, her aim is to build bridges between the public and the art world and create universal art, that is accessible to people of different backgrounds.
Zoe's works are figurative, their focus lies on human interaction and emotions, especially nostalgia. Based on second-hand bought photographs, she creates works that transport the viewer into a different world, at once familiar and alien. Viewers interact with personal experiences of strangers, enticing them to reminisce about their own memories. Through her paintings, Zoe curates fascinating collaborations of strangers, that otherwise would never take place.
